Biography

Atila Yenişen (born 1972 in Istanbul) earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Marmara University. After graduating from London Business School, he earned a ‘Certificate in Foundations of Neuroleadership’ from the Neuro Leadership Academy. Finally, after completing general management studies at Harvard Business School, Yenişen is now pursuing his doctorate at Sofia University.

His professional journey began with three years of sales and marketing management expertise. In 2000, he began his career in retail as a buying manager at Metro Cash & Carry Turkey. He was appointed fresh produce group manager in 2003 and held the job for three years. He joined Metro Cash & Carry Pakistan’s original executive team in 2006 as purchasing director.

After four years in Pakistan, he was appointed commercial director of Metro Cash & Carry Spain in 2010. During his term, which lasted until 2016, he served as Trade Director for both Spain and Portugal from 2012 to 2015. Atila Yenişen became CEO of Metro Bulgaria in 2016, and after serving as CEO of Makro Czechia from 2021 to 2023, he was appointed Vice President of the Executive Board of Metro AG in 2023. He has been working as a senior management consultant for METRO AG since the end of 2025.

Yenişen, a father of two, enjoys horseback riding as a passion.
