Graduated from METU Psychology and Sociology departments Başak Mireli decided to take a break from 20 years of international corporate life to focus more on offshore sailing.
Sailing over 30 years professional she attempted to break Turkish Coasts Sailing record in 2022, solo crossed Atlantic Ocean in 2023 and became the first Turkish woman to solo sail an ocean and been around Cape Horn, Everest of Seas on the third Turkish boat to do so.
She is the record holder for Solo Turkish Coasts Sailing, sailing non stop through the whole Turkish coast in 15 days 6 hours and 41 minutes.
Drawing from her experiences navigating world’s most dangerous seas, she focuses on strategic thinking and high performance and continues her career as Couple & Family Therapist.
