Danny Quah is Professor of Economics and International Development and a highly respected figure in the world of economics and governance. In January 2015 he was appointed Senior Advisor to the Director of the London School of Economics.

He also is Tan Chin Tuan Visiting Professor at National University of Singapore and serves on the Editorial Boards of East Asian Policy, Journal of Economic Growth, and the Journal of Global Policy. In addition, in 2014 he was appointed Director of the Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre at LSE’s Institute of Global Affairs, Senior Fellow at LSE IDEAS, Academic Director of the LSE Executive Summer School, and Chair of the LSE-PKU Summer School Board.
Danny Quah obtained his Ph.D. from Harvard University and his A.B. from Princeton University. He joined LSE in 1991 after having taught as an assistant professor in MIT’s Economics Department. In 2001 he was named one of ten heroes of dissemination by the ESRC. As a regular contributor to major economic journals, he also found a place in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Economics (1997).
