Haluk Can Hur graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department of Hacettepe University in 2002. He started his career as a Process Engineer in the dyeing house of a large holding company in the textile sector. He then transitioned to a chemical manufacturing company, where over the course of 9 years, he became one of the leaders in the company’s journey to become the fastest-growing entity in its sector. During the same period, he pursued a Marketing education at Boğaziçi University.
In 2010, he took a leap into entrepreneurship by establishing Latro Chemistry. In the following years, he was selected for and completed a program titled ‘Inspiring Strategies for Entrepreneurs’ at Harvard Business School.
Throughout his life, Hur held a belief that hierarchical management was fundamentally flawed. He was convinced that the transition to self-management should start with relinquishing his own title and position. Consequently, a few years ago, he fired the actual boss of Latro, who was himself, and abolished the General Manager position. By creating a bureaucracy-free zone of freedom, Haluk Can Hur enabled individuals to joyfully discover and freely express themselves, while the collective management and decision-making mechanism increased the team’s confidence in sharing this journey together.
With the liberty that comes with self-management, he is currently dedicating a significant amount of his time to a Technology Startup called Huudle as a founding partner. He has served as the President of the Turkish chapter of one of the world’s largest entrepreneurship organizations, Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), then became the EO Regional Director for Europe. Beyond his professional life, he is a speaker, sailor, kitesurfing enthusiast, and snowboarder.
