Prof. Dr. Taner Berksoy (1943) completed his undergraduate studies in İstanbul University Faculty of Economics. He received master’s and doctor’s degrees in Cambridge University. He became associate professor in Hacettepe University and later professor in Marmara University. He is a professor of economics at Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Piri Reis University.
He was deputy dean at Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1987-1997 and dean of Bilgi University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1999-2005. He was dean of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Business Administration between 2006-2011. He was dean of Okan University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences until July 2014.
Besides his brilliant academic career, Prof. Berksoy has taken on important roles in professional business life as an advisor to various companies and organizations. He has written many books and numerous articles which were published in reputable global journals.
Prof. Berksoy was one of the members of the popular TV show “Ecodialog” with fellow economists Asaf Savaş Akat, Deniz Gökçe and Mahfi Eğilmez.
He writes articles for newspapers and does commentaries on economic issues for different TV channels.
